The bisglycinate in the product is a form of iron in which the iron is bound to two glycine molecules to form a chelate. Iron bisglycinate is better absorbed and gentler on the digestive system than many other forms of iron (e.g. iron sulphate). Chelation helps iron to move better through the intestinal wall, reducing digestive upsets and side effects such as constipation or nausea that can occur with conventional iron supplements.
